In All Wrapped Up, a collection of three large-scale figurative drawings on Mylar and two life-size figurative sculptures, I have combined litter and pollution with the beauty of nature.

Representations of local endangered wildflowers constructed from garbage sprout from despairing bodies made from industrial and natural materials.

The gentle wildflowers juxtaposed with the harsh filth of the trash reveal the fragility of the land and how it is being affected by the local litter problem. Additionally, they contain within the despair of the figures a sense of hope that nature will persevere in spite of its maltreatment. In this way, the posture of the figures both represents our own human suffering caused by overconsumption and the suffering of nature caused by an excess of garbage and human presence.
